Letter to TYCA-NE Members

Dear TYCA-NE Friends,

We hope that your fall semester is off to a good start. Things seem to be getting back to a new normal on our campuses, and it's been quite a ride since March 2020!

Your TYCA Northeast team is working hard to make this first in-person conference since 2019 a great one. We have many timely and engaging presentations lined up, and Friday's keynote luncheon features Brooklyn poet laureate and acclaimed author Tina Chang.

Also, we are excited to welcome our good friend Steve Straight back to our conference. Steve retired a few years ago, but many of you remember him; he will also be visiting us for our Poetry Cafe and reading excerpts from Affirmation, his latest book of poetry. At the Cafe, we will once again be welcoming our TYCA poets to participate in one of our longstanding TYCA traditions.

Your $250 registration fee will include breakfast and lunch on Friday, cocktail hour on Friday night, and buffet brunch on Saturday morning. The Marriott Syracuse, located downtown, is offering great rates for our stay, and there are many excellent restaurants, museums, and shops just a short distance from the hotel. We have also scheduled a little more social time for this conference so that we can relax, recharge, and enjoy great company. It's been a long time!

We cannot wait to see you!

Warmly,
